VFX Artist (Unreal Engine)
We are seeking an experienced VFX Artist specializing in high-quality, real-time visual effects for Unreal Engine–based game development. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Houdini for procedural workflows, Niagara for real-time particle systems, and deep understanding of performance optimization for game-ready VFX. You will work closely with art, design, and engineering teams to create visually compelling effects that enhance gameplay while maintaining strict performance budgets.
Responsibilities
• Create high-quality, real-time VFX for games using Unreal Engine. • Design and implement particle systems using Niagara. • Develop procedural simulations and effects using Houdini for game-ready assets. • Optimize VFX for performance in real-time environments. • Collaborate with game designers, environment artists, and developers to align VFX with gameplay mechanics. • Integrate VFX assets into Unreal Engine with proper materials, shaders, and blueprints. • Maintain consistency in visual style and artistic direction. • Debug and refine VFX to ensure smooth in-game performance.
Requirements
• Strong portfolio showcasing real-time, game-ready VFX work. • Proficiency in Houdini for procedural VFX and simulations. • Strong experience with Unreal Engine Niagara system. • Knowledge of shaders, materials, and real-time rendering workflows. • Experience with After Effects for compositing and motion-based VFX concepts. • Understanding of optimization techniques for game engines. • Basic knowledge of Blueprints in Unreal Engine. • Strong sense of timing, motion, scale, and visual storytelling. • Ability to work in a collaborative game development team.
